Painting abroad - Dio/Jotaro
this was one of my best paintings from 2022 i got to paint while on vacation, so not only did i feel more relaxed making art during that time, it was also a challenge to do with tools that i was not used to, and all the while highly under-prepared to paint. took a trip to the art store and spontaneously was able to grab a few things to paint :)
My first commission
the first photo someone asked me to paint for them as a gift to someone special, they gave me this reference photo of umbreon and sylveon and requested a painting of it as a surprise, and it was a lot of fun to work on for them. you wont see this on my gallery page as it was painted before 2022, but it was an important piece for me.
Capturing emotion - Luffy
this is a painting that i just needed to make immediately after seeing this scene while watching one piece, Luffy makes you so happy sometimes, and i really impressed myself with how this one came out. it came out much better than i had hoped, and i feel like it really captured how it made me feel at the time ^-^
Inktober - my first attempt
an old marker piece (unfinished) that i did for the first time trying out inktober. i had been on an art hiatus for many years before attempting this so i was very happy to get back into it. i love fish and drawing a koi fish just seemed so fitting. (you can see the finished piece in the sketchbook tab).
Cleanest commission
this was the first time i dabbled with metallic backgrounds and it instantly became a go to for me when appropriate with colour schemes. this was a commission i did for one of my coworkers and one of my cleanest paintings of the year in my opinion. i was so satisfied with how it turned out and how it looked as if he was just "popping" on the canvas.
